To pull the plastic baffle off the dashboard: Adjust the heating vents so they point downwards. Grab the plastic bar between the heating vents and the stereo. There are two wire bundle connected to the amplifier, squeeze the tabs on the white wire bundle connectors to remove them. Remove screws, disconnect connector and remove dome light. Find 2 air vents, one to either side of radio, and push the top of vent as if air would be directed upwards.
Transfer the mounting brackets to your new stereo. Reverse these steps to bolt everything back up. Carefully push the unit out the front of the dash. Remove the two screws holding the radio at the rear of the unit. Remove front seat belt shoulder anchor bolts. Yours should be one piece including the trim around the radio.

Gently pry both bottom corners of climate control face up then towards the rear until clear of lock. You have to remove the dash trim.

To install, reverse removal procedure. Remove the instrument cluster and trim panel around the cluster. There is just enough extra length on the wiring harness to pull it out so you can unplug the connector. You will see a screw under the center knob. Remove the 4 bolts, and the radio is out. Mostly look forward to many hours removing the instruments, centre console and complete dashboard and steering column in order to access the heater unit.
Some early models have two screws at the top of the trim piece to remove first. This is a large, one-piece assembly which includes the center dash trim. Plug the wiring harness adaptor and antenna wire into the back of the new stereo. Apply pressure until the clips disengage and work your way up the trim. Find 2 screws going upwards, 1 in each air vent, and remove them. With these four bolts removed, grab the front of the center console section and lift up and back, the center console will pop apart from the front console skirt.
